  I figure it's been long enough that we've neglected the growing numbers of people who are practicing the western martial arts, so here we have a page devoted to western wasters. These are wooden practice blades based on traditional designs and made to be used. Like our bokuto and other Japanese blades, these are intended for use, not for hanging on walls. All blades are made from hickory.

medieval greatsword
May as well start big, here's the Medieval Greatsword. They are 53 inches (135cm) overall, with a hilt of 11 inches (28cm)

Just a bit shorter is the Longsword which is 48 inches (122cm) overall and has a 7.5 inch (19cm) hilt.

The shortsword is 39 inches (99cm) overall and is a one hander.

Of course if all that's just too modern foppish for you let's try the empire of Rome and the gladius. This is a 28 inch (71cm) overall length.
